The Gents section at Loudoun Gowf Club has at present around 500 members plus about 100 gents in the senior's section.
The gents competition season starts on the first Saturday of April each year and finishes on October during which there are various types of competitions played. On Saturday's there are medal competitions most weeks with also a few team competitions involving both the ladies and juniors. The team competitions are good fun and are proving popular with all our members. There are also Friday night shotgun foursomes competitions and a few Sunday competitions such as a Texas Scramble and Invitation Fourball. We also have a charity day in May which has gone from strength to strength over the last three years. The charity this year is Ayrshire Cancer Support and the target is to beat the £8,200 which was raised last year.
One of the highlights of the Gents season is the Loudoun Open which is held on the first Saturday in June and last year a field of 230 took part. The most popular day on the gents fixture list is the Quaich which is played as a tri-am with team prizes at every hole and maybe most important of all there is a beer tent at the ninth tee!!
The gents section takes part in the Ayrshire Summer League in which they won against Irvine Golf Club on the 4th October 2009.
